There's not many people out there that will tell you that AT&T's service is the best in the nation. But, there's plenty of people who will. Whether or not you're a fan of AT&T, Apple doesn't seem to mind. They have joined up with the GSM-based wireless company again, after the commanding success of the iPhone. But that hasn't made everyone happy, and now it seems that the FCC is jumping into the foray in questioning whether or not AT&T is the right choice for Apple.

You're absolutely right, Caps.

The truth is, AT&T is going to be at the mercy of Apple's customers on this one. People who bought an iPhone are different from people who are going to buy an iPad, in one big way: contracts. Or, the lack thereof. The simple fact that people can add, remove, and add the montly plans to their iPads without any recourse opens the door to a lot more people.

People may have said no to the iPhone because of the two- or one-year contract. No worries about the iPad in that case.

Hopefully AT&T is still hard at work on their network. Not only do they need it in general, but those who are going to purchase the iPad (and future iPhone) will greatly appreciate it.
