I find Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the best Panasonic to iMovie converter to transcode MTS videos to iMovie supported AVI.

Tips:
1. The output files also works for Non-linear editing software on MacBook Pro or iMac like Final Cut Pro (FCP), Final Cut Express (FCE), Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer (MC), and Kdenlive.

They say good things come in threes. And Panasonic has introduced three new 700 series models to its 3MOS high definition camcorder range for those looking for more than the current crop of PVCs offer. No doubt, it is a good news for camcorder lovers. But advanced things always come out with some bad points. And the point of these three camcorders making people disappointed is its incompatibility with most of editing software.
Presently, a powerful AVCHD converter is a must-have tool to make Panasonic 1080/60p AVCHD footage editable for some editing software, like FCP, FCE, iMovie, Adobe Premiere and Avid.
