Post Are you using a MiFi with your iPad?

Pretty much everyone here already has their iPad, which means they've got the WiFi only model. All that's well and good, but how many of you are using your Wifi iPad with a carrier's MiFi? You know, like Verizon Wireless, or even Sprint's 3G/4G Overdrive MiFi?

I'm curious to see if people are just adding the iPad into their arsenal, and piggy-backing on services they're already paying for, or are going to wait for the 3G model to come out later this month, so they get truly unlimited data usage, and none of that 5GB nonsense.

Verizon MiFi working perfectly. Little sucker gets hot when operating but operates well. Have not yet burned the battery down on it so I don't have a reliable figure as for how long it operates on its little battery.

BTW, I have not been experiencing the WiFi issues as reported in the press.

Dom, my Pre Plus gets super hot when I'm using the MiFi feature, too. Makes me not want to use it at all, but I'm torn. Honestly, the MiFi works better than I thought it would.

Technologically speaking, I don't get why the MiFi and your Palm get so damn hot. It must be the radio activity being pretty continuous during the connection, much like talking on a cell phone. It also gets hot because the radio gear inside it spend most of the time at idle, sending an ocassional status message. When talking or on 3G data, the radio is on continuously sending and receiving packets. Its just amazing that these tiny chips can run at such high temperatures that these devices feel HOT to a warm blooded creature.

Yeah, it is pretty shocking. Especially when you have it in your pocket. Lol

At least I know a good way to stay warm in the winter, now.

My theory is that: The new features were built over iOS4 beta, because the pulled features were still present in that version, so they would be able to improve those pulled features and reconsider pushing them into the next version of iOS. The polishing process or the process of bringing the features over to the newer version will always come last, WHICH WOULD explains why you see the old Calc and Voice memo icons. vob to avi Pretty sweet game. To me however the graphics don't look as good as the ones on Epic Citadel. They are still way better than anything else I've seen though. Gameplay is pretty fun, more of a time waster than something I can sit down and play for hours since you can't go exploring or anything. I still give this a 9/10. Well worth the $6.
